A poignant choreography depicting Punjab's rich cultural heritage, intertwined with the historic Jallianwala Bagh episode, left a lasting impact on the spectators.

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Commences Academic Session 2024-25 With Hawan Ceremony

Beginning of New Session is always an auspicious time - a time for hopes and renewed energies and aspirations. Green Land Convent School Sec-32, Ludhiana started the Academic Session 2024-25 with piety and enthusiasm on April 1, 2024. Students were welcomed with a shower of flowers. The school organized "Hawan Pujan” in which, students and teachers whole heartedly participated. ‘Aahutis’ were put in the Hawan Kunds while chanting the sacred mantras. Religious hymns sung by the school choir and students created the ambiance of spirituality in the school. All prayed to God for the smooth functioning of the school in the new academic session.

Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools in his message conveyed his greetings to the students and teachers for a productive and eventful new academic session. Explaining the significance of Hawan Ceremony, he added the Hawan fire and mantras purify and energize the surroundings with divine energies and vibrations, which help us achieve our arduous objectives with ease.

The evening unfolded into a spectacular cultural extravaganza, showcasing a captivating blend of talent, enthusiasm, and patriotism.

The esteemed guests of the evening, Honourable Daljit Singh Grewal, MLA, Ludhiana East and S. The cultural kaleidoscope also featured welcome dance, Sammi folk dance, Liliput, Golmal: A Comedy Dance, Hindi play 'Azadi Ki Deewani' depicting the contribution and struggle of freedom fighters such as Durga Devi. The lively Bhangra performance, executed with finesse by students adorned in traditional attire, infused the audience with energy and joy.

Green Land Celebrates Christmas with Zest and Zeal

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh., radiated festive joy during its Christmas celebration on December 23, 2023. The campus witnessed a spectrum of activities, including modelling for Pre-Nursery to K.G. classes, classroom decoration, and dance competitions for classes I to III. Students from classes IV to VI engaged in crafting Santa Claus and New Year cards, while an inter-house Christmas decoration contest added to the festive fervour.

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Chd. Road Celebrates Janmashtami

Students of Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated Krishna Janmashtami with great cultural zeal on the school campus on September 6, 2023.

A whole range of cultural activities such as Flowers’ Garland Making, Matki-making, Class-decorations with Janamashtmi themes, etc. were organized at the school campus.

Students put up tableaus on Mahabharat Rachna, Vishnu Avtar and Vasudev and Krishna in Yamuna. Students of Classes IX and X presented engrossing dance performance Maha Ras Leela. Students of classes V to VIII enthralled the audience with Krishana Leela choreography.  Geeta Saar by students from classes XI to XII kept everyone glued to their seats.  The school was beautifully decorated with colourful rangolis, banners, streamers, confetti, and tableaus depicting various events from the life of Lord Krishna. In the background hymns eulogizing feats of Lord Krishna were played. Fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of burning incense and jingle of the bells reverberated in the air.

Dr. Shabad Rudhra, the President, and Dr. Vijayata Rudhra, the Director of Chain of Green Land Schools attended the celebrations and performed sacred ceremony of bathing the baby idol of Lord Krishna in a cradle. Sacred hymns and devotional songs depicting the life of Krishna filled the gathering of teachers and students with spiritual fervour and devotion. In U-17 girls’ category, Khushi won gold medal; Arshiya bagged silver medal; Monika, Harsimran, Tanisha, and Anjali managed to win bronze medals.

In U_17 boys’ category Ishan bagged silver medal; Rehan Arora, Sidhart, and Anuj Sharma secured bronze medals. Green Land Students won 10 medals in aggregate: 1 gold, 2 silver, and 7 bronze.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 Organizes Capacity Building Workshop for Teachers

A Capacity Building Programme on National Education Policy 2020 was organised at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 on August 12, 2023.

Dr. Navneet Kaur, the Principal of The Sriram Universal School, Ludhiana, and vastly learned scholar and educationist Dr. Gurbhej Singh Nagi, Principal Gurunanak Public School, Ludhiana., innovative and forward-thinking educator, administrator and CBSE resource person, conducted the programme. It was an enlightening session for the teachers, which commenced interactive session followed by discussion on salient features, potential impact, and implementation of the NEP-2020. Along with an informative presentation, there were fun activities for teachers to demonstrate various key teaching skills, and why and how to infuse them in classroom teaching.

आजादी के फिज़ा में रंग गया ग्रीनलैंड कॉनवैंट स्कूल , सैक्टर-32

ग्रीनलैंड कॉनवैंट स्कूल सैक्टर-32 चण्डीगढ़ रोड में स्वतंत्रता दिवस उमंग और उत्साहपूर्वक मनाया गया|इस अवसर पर स्कूल देश भक्ति के रंग में रंग गया| बच्चों ने सुबह की प्रार्थना सभा में देशभक्ति की कविताएँ और जोशीले भाषण के साथ सभी को स्वतंत्रता दिवस के बारे में जानकारी दी| स्कूल के एनसीसी कैडेटों ने बैंड के साथ राष्ट्रीय गीत बजाते हुए परेड निकाली गई| ठीक सुबह आठ बजे स्कूल भवन पर राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया। सभी छात्रों और शिक्षकों ने झंडे को सलामी दी और फिर राष्ट्रगान गाया | इसके उपरांत प्राइमरी विंग के बच्चों ने आजादी महोत्सव को मनाते हुए विभिन्न गतिविधियों, सोलो डांस, कोरियोग्राफी, ऐसा देश है मेरा, देश भक्ति के गाने, ग्रुप डांस, भांगड़ा पेश करके सभी को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया| किंडरगार्टन के सभी बच्चे देशभक्त के रूप में नजर आए| साथ ही छोटे-छोटे बच्चों ने  फ्लैग मेकिंग गतिविधि में भाग लिया| सारा स्कूल ‘वंदे मातरम’ और ‘भारत माता की जय’ के जयघोष के साथ गूंज उठा| इस अवसर पर बच्चों को 3D शो भी दिखाया गया जिसमें भारत की उपलब्धियां को दर्शाया गया|

Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Ludhiana celebrated Paper-Bag Day with zeal and enthusiasm on July 12, 2023. The school organized various activities on the theme of ‘Say No To Plastics’. Special morning assembly was held in which students gave informative speeches on the hazards of plastic uses. Paper-Bag-Making competition was held in the classes and students made beautiful and innovative paper bags.

Interacting with students and teachers, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan enumerated upon the advantages of using paper-bags over plastic bags. She said in order to save environment, all must take pledge to use paper-bags only.

Green Land Convent School Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. celebrated World Chocolate Day with much enthusiasm on July 7, 2023. Teachers planned fun activities for the Pre-primary and primary sections.  On this occasion, the students of Nursery and KG classes relished eating yummy and delicious chocolates. They had a great time relishing them with their friends. The tiny tots of Kindergarten presents their oratory skills by giving Advertisement show on their favourite chocolate.
Interacting with the students and teachers, Ms. Vinita Sanan, the Principal said chocolate is a scrumptious delicacy loaded with health benefits, which is a powerful source of antioxidants, plus it helps to improve blood flow, lower blood pressure, and reduce the risk of heart disease. It also increases serotonin and dopamine levels, which helps to boost mood. She also cautioned the students to eat it in moderation to derive maximum health benefits out of this delicious food. The joy of celebrating Chocolate Day with their classmates and teachers was vividly visible on the gleaming faces of children.

Abdul Ahad and Shivansh Verma of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana won Third Position in Power Point Presentation at Ludhiana Sahodya Schools Complex Competition organised at Green Land Convent School, Dugri, Ludhiana on May 20, 2023.  Both the prodigy students gave an engrossing and ingenious presentation on the topic Mathematics behind Fingerprinting, which was lauded and appreciated by one and all. The judges were particularly pleased and impressed with their presentation skills.

Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools, praised both the students and the teachers who had prepared them. He said mastering strong PowerPoint presentation skills can greatly enhance students’ career growth.

BHAVIK, RAJ TOMAR, NIDHI, BHUMIKA AND SMRIDHI OF GREEN LAND CONVENT SCHOOL, SECTOR 32, CHANDIGARH ROAD EXCEL IN CBSE CLASS X & XII RESULTS

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Ludhiana, added yet another chapter of success to their academics’ almanac with their topnotch performance in CBSE Classes XII and X Examinations results declared on May 12, 2023

Scoring 97.6% in aggregate, Nidhi Kapoor did the school proud by topping in the Commerce stream; in Non-Medical, Bhawik and in Medical, Raj Tomar brought laurels to school by scoring 95.4% and 93.4 % respectively; Tejshi Sharma topped in Arts Stream by scoring 93.6%. Many students scored 100 out of 100, marks in Business Studies and Music, and 99 out of 100 in various subjects and received commendations from one and all.

In class X, prodigy student, Samridhi secured 96.4 % and won accolades for the school. 

In class 12th, 18 students, and in class 10th, 21 students scored more than 90% marks.

ग्रीनलैंड कॉनवैंट स्कूल, सैक्टर-32, चण्डीगढ़ रोड में मंगलवार को विश्व रेड क्रॉस दिवस मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर एक स्पेशल असेम्बली आयोजित की गई। विद्यार्थियों को रेड क्रॉस संस्था के विषय में विस्तृत जानकारी दी गई जिसमें बताया गया कि किस प्रकार रेड क्रॉस संस्था के स्वयंसेवक निःस्वार्थ भाव से विभिन्न आपदाओं में निरंतर अपनी सेवाएँ प्रदान करते हैं। इस अवसर पर कक्षा चौथी-पाँचवीं के छात्रों के लिए फर्स्ट ऐड बॉक्स मेकिंग प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया जिसके द्वारा उन्होंने छात्राओं को समाजसेवा में भागीदारी देने के लिए प्रेरित किया। बच्चों ने फर्स्ट ऐड बॉक्स के जरिए बताया कि डॉक्टर के आने से पहले घायलों को फर्स्ट ऐड द्वारा प्राथमिक उपचार दिया जा सकता है।

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 celebrated International Labour Day on May 1, 2023 on the theme 'Without labour nothing prospers' to salute the efforts of the labour force. Teachers briefed the children about Labour Day and its importance in the morning assembly. The children expressed gratitude to the helpers like maids, drivers, peons, guards, gardeners, electricians etc. on the campus.

Tiny tots of the pre-Primary and Primary section celebrated the day by participating in fun-filled creative activities. They were involved in making 'Thank You' cards. The senior section students used their creative writing skills in various activities to express their gratitude to everyday helpers.

Addressing the students on the occasion, Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan appreciated the efforts of students and stated that we must teach our children to have gratitude in heart for those who serve them on daily basis.

 

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Celebrates World Dance Day

International Dance Day was celebrated with great zeal and fervor at Greenland Convent School, Sector-32, Ludhiana on April 29, 2023. Students presented various dance performances and enthralled the audience.

The aim of the celebration was to inculcate interest and respect among the students for all dance forms, be it Classical or Western. A lecture combined with a PPT and demonstrations sessions were presented by the Dance instructors. They expounded on the various Indian Classical Dance forms like free-style, Punjabi, Kathakali, Kathak, Manipuri and Western Dances like Hip- Hop, Ballet explaining the finer and unique nuances of each form. The demonstration sessions were given by senior school students on a variety of dance forms. The audience was left spell bound and with a lot of insight on the forms of dances.

Speaking to students and teachers on the occasion, Ms. Vinita Sanan, the Principal explained the significance of celebrating the World Dance Day. She said dance is very important in our lives, as it is not only a form of art and expression, but it also has numerous physical and mental health benefits. Dance can help reduce stress, improve cardiovascular health, increase flexibility, and promote overall well-being. She lauded the teachers and students for celebrating the International Dance Day was celebrated with enthusiasm.

 

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Ludhiana Holds English Handwriting Competition Or Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Ludhiana Students Enhance Their Handwriting

An Intra-Class English Handwriting Competition for classes I – IV was organized at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ludhiana. The objective of this competition was to encourage students to improve their calligraphy skills. The competition was organized in the respective classrooms. Enthusiastic students penned down sentences in their best hand, vying to outdo one another to secure the winner’s trophy and applause from their teachers. The competition helped enhance their fine motor skills and also brought to fore their competitive spirit.

 Addressing students and teachers on the occasion the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan said that handwriting is an essential skill for students. It is an incredibly important exercise for students to encourage them to develop fine motor skills and confidence. It activates the brain and contributes to reading fluency. It also encourages and recognizes the good handwriting skills. It provides students with an opportunity to display their competency of legible writing. She praised the participants’ calligraphy skills along with their enthusiastic pro-learning attitude. She also awarded certificates and trophies to the winners. The response of the students was very encouraging. Majority of students had put in their best foot forward to enhance their writing skills.

 

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Celebrates World Earth Day

Every year, Earth Day is celebrated April 21 at Green Land Convent School Sec-32 to remind the students of their duties towards ‘Mother Nature.’ As a part of environmental education, "Go- Green" initiative was taken to engage the students in making a difference. Earth Day was celebrated through educational and action-oriented activities that were fun.

Various activities were conducted in the school campus. Special Assembly was conducted and students took oath to protect the earth from pollution. Animal race by kindergarten tiny-tots was the key attraction. Toddlers disguised as animals danced and ran a race that received thundering applause from the audience. Students from classes I to III presented beautifully prepared presentations on the theme of Save Earth. Students of class I also enacted a play on the theme of Save Planet Earth. II class students mesmerised the spectators with their choreography on Stop Polluting Our Beautiful Planet Earth. Soft-board decoration contest for students from classes IX-XII was held on the theme ‘Every Day, Earth Day’.

In his message to the students, the Chairman of Green Land Chain of Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra urged the students to play a proactive role in conserving the biodiversity of earth. He explained World Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 to express our gratitude towards the Earth by promoting peace and environmental protection.

Ms. Vinita Sanan, the Principal addressed the students and emphasized on the importance of afforestation, planting of trees and the need for everyone to put together their efforts and get into action, in protecting our blue planet.

Students of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 celebrated Foundation Day, Dr. Ambedkar Jyanti, Baisakhi Festival with zest and cultural fervour on April 13, 2023. Students of the school presented cultural programme. Gorgeous girls of Green Land Convent School Sec-32, in colourful Punjabi attires, presented scintillating Giddha. Dashing boys set the stage on fire with their Bangra performance. A choreography depicting rich Punjabi culture and the Jalianwala episode mesmerised the gathering. A Power Point Presentation depicting school’s foundation day history and the stupendous success achieved by Chain of Green Land Schools was also shown to students.  All the performances received thundering applause from the audience.

In his message to students and teachers on the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools congratulated the students and teachers on the eve of Foundation Day of Chain of Green Land Schools. He enumerated upon the various qualities of the architect of the constitution. He further explained to the students that patience and courage were the secrets behind the phenomenal success that Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar had achieved in all spheres of his life. Keeping him as role-model, students should also endeavour to overcome obstacles in their path and clinch success.

ग्रीनलैंड कॉन्वैंट स्कूल चण्डीगढ़ रोड सैक्टर-32 में कक्षा नौवीं के छात्रों के लिए एक हिंदी वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया।

इस प्रतियोगिता का मूल विषय (थीम) "भविष्य के स्कूलों में न किताबें होंगी और न शिक्षक”| जिसमें विद्यार्थियों के बोलने के लिए समय अवधि २ से 3 मिनट निर्धारित की गई|

छात्रों ने इस मुद्दे पर जोरदार ढंग से बात की और अपने दृष्टिकोण के साथ सामने आए। प्रत्येक प्रतिभागी अपने तर्कों का बचाव करने के लिए खड़ा हुआ। बहस बहुत सारे तर्कों और प्रतिवादों के साथ जीवंत थी। कुछ प्रतिभागियों ने मूल विषय के पक्ष में तर्क दिया तो कुछ ने इसके विरोध में। प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी ने अपने विचारों को सही ठहराने के लिए कारणों का हवाला भी दिया। पूरी टीम ने बेहतरीन वक्तृत्व प्रदर्शन किया।

समारोह में आमंत्रित निर्णायकगण छात्रों के विचारों में गहराई से डूबे हुए थे और उन्होंने प्रतिभागियों के साहस और भावना की प्रशंसा की व सभी के प्रयासों की अत्यधिक सराहना की। दर्शकों  ने इस कार्यक्रम का पूरा आनंद लिया।

अंत में निर्णायकगण ने बच्चों के विचारों के आधार पर तर्क निकाला कि विद्यालय, शिक्षक एवं पुस्तकें तीनों ही बच्चों के उज्जवल भविष्य एवं मार्गदर्शन के लिए आवश्यक है। बिना शिक्षक एवं पुस्तकें के विद्यार्थियों का संपूर्ण विकास असंभव है।

WORLD HEALTH DAY OBSERVED AT GREEN LAND CONVENT SCHOOL, SEC. 32, CHD. ROAD, LDH.

Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Chd. Road, Ldh. observed ‘World Health Day’ on 7th April 2023 with an aim to remind the students that health is the biggest asset. The School concentrated to guide the students to get rid of unhealthy habits and behaviour and shift towards a healthier life.

In order to spread awareness about health issues, new medicines research and to make the healthy life style of children a team of doctors - Dr Sanjay & Dr. Suhasani of AYKAI HOSPITAL were invited to interact with students of grade XI-XII. The doctors discussed with the students about balanced diet, importance of regular exercise and also enriched them with various prevailing diseases like anxiety, hypertension, Kidney diseases, female healthcare etc. They also told the students that having no disease doesn’t mean you are healthy.

Furthermore, different activities were arranged in the school premises.Students of grade P.Nsy – Kg enjoyed their Zumba dance in the activity hall, students of grades I-III brought healthy tiffins, PT exercises were performed by students of grades VI-VIII in the morning assembly and a student named Srishti of class IX delivered a speech to throw a light on ‘World Health Day’. Senior wing students of grades IX-XII showcased their art & craft skills by making innovative poster on Healthy Life Styles.

The Chairman, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra told the students that if you want good health, you  have to take that first step , you cannot sit and wait for it to arrive. He further added that the students who experiment with drugs and other substances put their health and safety at risk.

Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Ludhiana Celebrated Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti with patriotic fervour on January 23, 2023. The school organized a whole gamut of activities to mark the birth anniversary of the Great Freedom Fighter, Neta Ji Subhash Chandra Bose. An inter-house poster making competition was held in the Activity Hall. The students paid rich tribute to Neta Ji by making his portraits and writing his inspirational quotes on them.

In his message to the students and teachers, the Chairman of Green Land Chain of Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra eulogized Neta Ji’s contributions to Indian freedom struggle. He said Subhash Chandra Bose was one of the greatest leaders of India who gave up his life for his mother­land.

Interacting with students and teachers, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan shed light on Neta Ji’s life. She explained how thousands of young people were motivated to join the fight for freedom by Netaji. He left his ICS post and returned to India from England to participate in the freedom struggle. She appealed to students and teachers to incorporate Neta Ji’s patriotism in their life to contribute optimally to the development of the nation.

National Youth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on January 12, 2023 at Greenland Convent School, Chandigarh Road, Sector 32 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the architect of modern India.
Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, chairman of the Greenland Chain of Schools told the children that Swami Vivekananda was a maestro of religion, philosophy, history, art, social science, literature. Apart from being good in education, he also had knowledge of Indian classical music. Swami Vivekananda's way of working was a great source of inspiration for Indian youth. He inspired the students to lead an ideal life and gave a message to make India a better country.

Principal of the school Mrs. Vinita Sanan wished everyone on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. She told the students that the future of the country depends on the youth of the country. Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Celebrates Lohri Festival

Green Land Convent Sr. Sec. School, Sector -32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated Lohri Festival with exuberance and cultural fervour on January 13, 2023.

The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The function started with speeches in English and Punjabi highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the bone-chilling winter. The students had a campus party in which they danced to the tune of popular Punjabi songs. The classes were decorated beautifully with hand-made kites, buntings, and charts. A bonfire was set up around which the students and teachers gathered and offered traditional offerings into the holy fire.

Campus of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. echoed with jubilant Christmas celebrations on December 24, 2022.

A whole gamut of activities such as modelling for Pre-Nursery to K.G. classes’; classroom decoration and dance competitions for classes I to III; making of Santa Clause and New Year cards for classes IV to VI; inter-house Christmas decoration contest were organized.

In his greetings to students and teachers, the Chairman of Green Land Chain of Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra stressed on the need of understanding the significance of the festival, which he explained, is the birth of goodness and divinity. He also emphasized on keeping the spirit of Christmas alive in our thoughts, words, and deeds.

लुधियाना, ग्रीनलैंड कॉन्वैंट स्कूल, सैक्टर-32 के दसवीं कक्षा के छात्र सौरभ कुमार यादव ने अंडर-17 श्रेणी में पंजाब स्कूल शिक्षा विभाग की ओर से जिला स्तरीय कराटे चैंपियनशिप में जोनल, डिस्ट्रिक्ट एवं स्टेट लेवल टूर्नामेंट में गोल्ड मेडल जीत कर स्कूल का नाम रोशन किया है | इसके साथ ही उसने नेशनल में भी अपनी जगह बनाई है| कराटे चैंपियनशिप में पंजाब के विभिन्न जिलों बठिंडा, लुधियाना, पठानकोट, मोहाली, पटियाला, अमृतसर, मानसा आदि के खिलाड़ियों ने भाग लिया था|

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. celebrated birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with devotional fervor on November 07, 2022. A special congregation was held at the school to pay obeisance to the immortal Guru. Students recited holy Gurbani Shabads: ‘ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾਂ’, ‘ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਤੂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੈ’, ‘ਇਕ ਬਾਬਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਰੂਪ ਦੂਜਾ ਰਬਾਬੀ ਮਰਦਾਨਾ’, ‘ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਜੀਵਾ’, which filled the devotees with divine tranquility.

In his message to the students and the teachers on the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the Chairman of Green Land Chain of Schools euologized Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings. He said the advent of Guru Nanak brought light to the modern world from the dark night of medieval ignorance, religious intolerance, inequality and corruption.

Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex (Central Zone) Table Tennis Tournament was organized in Ludhiana, Green Land Convent School, Sector-32. The budding ‘Ping Pong players’ from various reputed CBSE affiliated schools participated in this tournament.

This competition was conducted for girls and boys in under-14, under-17 and under-19 categories. All the events were arranged systematically under the well-planned directions of the Principal of the school, Mrs. Vinita Sanan.

The President of the Trust of Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Shabad Rudhra was present as the chief guest; he was warmly welcomed with bouquets by Mrs. Vinita Sanan, the Principal of the school.

छात्रों के रचनात्मक कौशल को बढ़ाने के लिए रंगोली मेकिंग, कार्ड मेकिंग, दीया डेकोरेशन, फेस्टून मेकिंग, लैंटर्न मेकिंग, थाली और बंदनवार बनाने की गतिविधियाँ आयोजित की गई| स्कूल के सभागार को फूलों से सुसज्जित किया गया व पूरी तरह से रोशनी, मोमबत्तियों और पर्यावरण के अनुकूल उत्पादों से कलाकृति से सजाया गया|

Road, Ludhiana celebrated the National Sports Day i.e Rashtriya Khel Divas on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand Ji(The Indian Hockey Legend) to enlighten the students about benefits of being healthy. The young prodigies of classes I to III played hockey with great enthusiasm and zeal. The little ones dressed us in sports costumes had fun and learnt a lot about true sportsmanship and the value of playing games. Students were seen playing with true team spirit and the celebration of National Sports Day echoed in the school play ground.

Green Land Convent School, Sector -32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated Hariyali Teej Festival with gaiety and zest. The traditional colourful costumes of the students from classes Pre. Nursery to III and staff added an enhanced charm and mood of the celebrations.

The School campus wore a festive look with decorations brimmed with the traditional swings. Keeping in mind the different age groups of children, special arrangements were made for their entertainment. The young mutiyars of classes VI-XII recited Boliyan and performed Giddha to welcome Savana with which the festival is coupled. The girls enjoyed swinging the beautiful swings decorated with scented flowers. Keeping the theme of enjoyment and festivity, the students of classes P.Nsy and KG made beautifully and hand crafted cultural dhols and fans, whereas students of classe I-III presented Punjab’s rich heritage through solo singing, solo dance and brought Punjabi desserts like kheer, malpure, jalebi etc in tiffins. Festival of Teej was celebrated with pomp and grandeur by Green Knights. It was a gala time for the students. The colourful event turned out to be a grand success.

The Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan talked about the importance of the day with students, she further said that the school aims at promoting the culture through organizing such fests, events and celebrations of the festivals so that our national and cultural values remain inculcated in students.

The Chairman, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra added that Teej is a jovial festival of daughters and inspired the students to participate with spirit. He also exhorted the students to be proud of their rich cultural heritage and always stay connected with it.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 celebrated Vanmahotsav enthusiastically with a tree plantation drive on July 14, 2022. Students from classes P.Nsy to XII planted saplings of different genera at various locations within the school premises.

Sharing his thoughts on the occasion Dr. Rajesh Rudra, the Chairman of the school enumerated on the importance of trees in life; in order to motivate students and teachers, he also planted a few saplings in the school premises. He said, “When we plant a tree, we actually plant brighter, healthier future for our coming generations.”

Ms. Vinita Sanan, the Principal lauded the students and teachers for successfully organizing event with zeal and zest. She said that new trees planted work as oxygen generators and air-purifiers, which are needed in great numbers to repair the deteriorating environment.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated Guru Purnima with reverence and mystical fervour on July 13, 2022.

Students and teachers commenced the celebrations by offering flowers at the feet of all great Gurus. Hymns were chanted in the praise of the great Gurus, invoking their blessings for divine guidance and enlightenment. The students of the primary wing paid their homage to teachers through dance performance in beautiful traditional attires.

In his message, the Chairman of Green Land Chain of Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra on the occasion exhorted the students to reflect on the wisdom and knowledge of their Gurus with devout veneration. He said, “This day is the day to express gratitude towards one's Gurus. When you see how wisdom has transformed your life, you feel grateful to your Guru for all the blessings and joys that you get on account of their benevolence. The celebration of this feeling of gratitude to Gurus is Guru Purnima.”

Addressing the students and teachers on the occasion, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan, made them aware of the fact that every day in their lives could be Guru Purnima if they would follow the path taught by their Gurus respectfully. She said, “Every human being has unlimited knowledge in him/her, this knowledge can be channeled through Guru’s blessings and guidance only.” She particularly counselled the students to approach their Gurus with respectful attitude always to get the best knowledge from them.

World Population Day is an event, celebrated on 11th day of July to raise awareness of Global Population Issues. The day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana to mark the importance of the World Population Day. A special assembly was organised where the students were explained the benefits of both nuclear family and joint family system. They were also told about the disadvantages of population increase in the country. To give further boost to the undiscovered creativity of children, Poster Making Competition was also held for classes IX – XII wherein students depicted the population rate, rise/fall in global population, curse of increasing population to the mankind, effects of increase in population on Mother Earth etc. The enthusiasm was quite visible in students’ artistic works. Certificates of participation were awarded to students.

The event ended with the eloquent words of the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan. She applauded the efforts of the students and urged the students to become good citizens and imbibe good values and ethics in their lives.

 

GREEN LAND CONVENT SCHOOL, SEC.32, LDH. CONDUCTED PAPER BAG DAY ACTIVITY

World Paper Bag Day is celebrated every year on July 12 to promote the use of paper bags for the cause of saving the environment. To commemorate this day, Green Land Convent School, Sec-32,Chd. Road, Ludhiana organised a paper bag making competition for the children of grade IV & V .Keeping sustainability as the motto, students created amazing paper bags using waste newspapers and displayed them in their classes.

The school Chairman , Dr. Rajesh Rudhra appreciated the joint effort of students, parents and teachers. He also motivated students to be the safe guards of the environment and always use jute or paper bags instead of plastic bags.

The School Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan appraised the students and told them that Paper bags are environmental friendly alternative to the harmful plastic bags and also she motivated students to always use paper bags instead of plastic bags.

Chocolates are the symbol of love and care teachers and students, Chocolate Day was celebrated at Green Land Convent School, Sec -32 Chd.Rd.Ldh.The tiny tots came dressed in shades of chocolates. The classes were decorated with chocolates and pictures of delicious chocolate cakes. Students enjoyed the day with fun and gifted chocolates to each other. The joy of celebrating Chocolate Day with the classmates was seen on the gleaming faces, as the tiny tots bid good bye for the day with blissful memories.

Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Ludhiana organized National Reading Week in the school premises on July 5, 2022. The prime purpose behind organizing this competition was to motivate students to improve their English reading skills, creativity and original thinking since early age.

The students were offered classical tales to choose from and read them out to the audience. The competition encouraged students to practice pronunciation and listen to others.

In his message to the students and teachers, the Chairman of Green Land Chain of Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra enlightened the students and teachers on umpteen benefits of developing reading habit among the students. Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Ludhiana celebrated International Yoga Day on June 20, 2022 with much fervour and enthusiasm. A wide range of activities were organized in the school campus.

A mass Yoga session was held in the activity hall in which students from classes performed various asanas under the expert guidance of their yoga instructor. The boundless peace of doing the asanas was vividly visible on the faces of the students and teachers.

Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Ludhiana celebrated Family Day on May 13, 2022 for the students to inculcate family values in their life. It enabled the students to recognize that the family provides a sense of belonging and a unique identity to them.

The celebration started with the assembly in which children were given an opportunity to express their feelings about their family. In groups the students were asked to make family trees with their family photographs and names pasted on it.

Bulletin Boards were decorated with pictures and quotes depicting the importance of this day. Fun-filled, activity-oriented worksheets were prepared by the teachers to instil the message that family is like branches on a tree, that grow in different directions yet the root remains the same.

In his message to the students and teachers, the Chairman of Green Land Chain of Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra enumerated the significance and benefits of celebrating the Family Day. He said celebrating such days cement the bond between children and parents and keep them connected to their culture and traditions.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated World Nature Heritage Day with zest and zeal on April 18, 2022. Students from classes IV to IX participated in various activities. Scrap File Decoration was organized in class IV; Drawing Competition on the theme ‘Heritage of India’ was held in class V; students of class VI presented a presentation on ‘Complex Past: Diverse Future’; and students from classes VII to IX presented power point presentations on ‘India’s Rich Culture and Heritage’, ‘Seven Wonders of the World’, and ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’.

Sharing his thoughts on the occasion Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the Chairman of the school enumerated on the importance of spreading awareness about diversity of cultural heritage, amid efforts to conserve them.

He said the idea behind observing World Heritage Day is to make people of different geographical regions meet with each other and share information about their history, heritage and traditions, which ultimately promotes co-habitation.

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Commences Academic Session 2022-23 With Hawan Ceremony

Beginning of New Session is always an auspicious time - a time for hopes and renewed energies and aspirations. Green Land Convent School Sec-32, Ludhiana started the Academic Session 2022-23 with piety and enthusiasm on April 1, 2022. Students were welcomed with a shower of flowers. The school organized "Hawan Pujan” in which, students and teachers whole heartedly participated. ‘Aahutis’ were put in the Hawan Kunds while chanting the sacred mantras. Religious hymns sung by the school choir and students created the ambiance of spirituality in the school. All prayed to God for the smooth functioning of the school in the new academic session.

Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra held an interactive session with parents of students from classes Nursery to X at Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Chd. Road, Ludhiana on March 30, 2022.

He welcomed the parents and talked about the heavy toll COVID-19 lockdowns had taken on children’s education. Special morning assembly was held in the amphitheatre, wherein ambitious students of class X integrated facts about Pi ( π ) ,history of Pi (π) & its formula , its values and application of Pi ( π )in the real world. The celebration prompted students from all learning levels and competences to dedicate time and effort to developing memorization strategies and skills. In the celebration students participated with great enthusiasm and excitement, availing opportunity to showcase their talents.

Green Land Convent School, Sector -32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated Lohri Festival with exuberance and cultural fervour on January 12, 2022. The mood on the virtual classes was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The celebration began in the online special morning assembly with speeches in English and Punjabi highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the bone-chilling winter. Students of all classes participated in different activities, wearing Punjabi Traditional Attire. Enthusiastically students of all classes from pre-nursery to grade XII showcased the rich heritage of Punjab with kite making, kite flying, solo dance performance of giddha and bhangra, lohri songs and many more performances. All were glued to the screen when so many stunning performances came in front of the screen one after the other. The school’s front office was also decorated beautifully with hand-made kites, buntings, and charts. In the school premises bonfire was set up and the whole staff offered traditional offerings into the holy fire.

The Chairman of the chain of Green Land School, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, congratulated all students and teachers and emphasized that Lohri festival prompts people to be thankful for God’s provision and also encouraged teachers to play a vital role to keep the tradition and culture alive in our festivities.

Indian Army Day celebrated on virtual mode at Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Chd Rd

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Chd Rd.Ldh expressed its admiration and gratitude to the Indian Army by celebrating Army Day with great zeal. To mark the significance of this day, the students of Class III participated in ‘Poem Recitation Competition’. They also made colourful, bright and vibrant props to show the respect and gratitude towards the Indian Army Whereas the students of Class I took part in ‘Solo Dance Competition ‘with great zeal and zest. The students of Class IV & V wrote beautiful slogans on colourful decorated A4 sheets and read aloud them in the class.

The students of Kindergarten participated in ‘Art &Craft Competition’ along with quotes on Indian Army. Teachers also explained the heroic efforts of the Indian Army in the form of stories.

School Chairman, Dr.Rajesh Rudhra expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army who remained undeterred while laying down their lives for the sake of the nation. He motivated the students to be true patriots and serve the nation selflessly.

Campus of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. echoed with jubilant Christmas celebrations from December 20 to December 23, 2021.

A whole gamut of activities such as modelling for Pre-Nursery to K.G. classes’; classroom decoration and dance competitions for classes I to III; making of Santa Clause and New Year cards for classes IV to VI; inter-house Christmas decoration contest were organized.

Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana conducted Clay Modelling Activity for the students of classes Pre-nursery, Nursery and KG. Under the guidance and direction of teachers the little hands worked smoothly and efficiently to fulfil their heart’s desires and fantasies. Manipulation with clay provided an outlet for children to physically convey their emotions and reduce stress. They pounded, squeezed, rolled and blended the clay to make some unique and amazing creations like fish, roses, snow man, angry bird, watermelon, boat, butterfly, dog, bird etc. and displayed them with pride. The finished product at hand was a treasure to cherish for the tiny tots. They experienced the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction with their stunning creations.All the participants were awarded with certificate of appreciation.

The Principal, Mrs.Vinita Sanan, appreciated the students’ effort and said Clay modelling develops the motor skills of young ones as it nurtures a child’s creativity, boosts imagination, and imbibes self-confidence. Various intellectual and literary activities were conducted to mark the day for students to acquaint them with the life of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. Students participated in many activities like classes IV, students wrote slogans and quotations given by Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad on education. Essay Writing Competition was held in class V on the topics – Education is power, Life without Education. Students of class XI enthusiastically participated in Poster Making Competition. It was a memorable day for all. The enthusiasm was quite visible in students’ activities. Certificates of participation were awarded to students.

The Chairman, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, cheered the students and said that the main purpose of education is to build children’s skills and potentials in the era of technology advancement.

Diwali Festivities Reverberated at Green Land Convent School Sec-32 LDH.

The school campus of Green Land Sector-32, Ludhiana was abuzz with week-long Diwali carnival festivities lasting from October 26 to November 3, 2021.

During the carnival a whole gamut of intriguing and engaging activities were organized at the school campus for classes P.Nsy to XII. A few of the many activities organized were: balloon blowing competition, paper-lantern making competition, Diya and candle decoration competition, Rangoli competition.

Students also decorated their classrooms for the Diwali festival with balloons, colorful paper lanterns, Diyas, candles, Rangolis.

The carnival culminated with Diwali fete celebrations. The key attractions at the fete were: various food-stalls catering mouth-watering and delectable dishes; a number of game-stalls, nail art and tattoo corner, joy rides, haunted house and scintillating stage shows electrified and gladdened the atmosphere.

The Chairman of the school, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra conveyed his Happy and Prosperous Diwali wishes to the students and teachers. He lauded the children and teachers for mingling fun-filled activities with the curriculum, which according to him impact immensely in developing love for learning among the young learners. Story Telling Competition was organized at Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Chd Rd.Ldh for the students of Nursery on the theme ‘Jungle Safari'. The tiny performers were excited to enact like their favourite animals.They presented the stories using creative animation and colourful props. The whole atmosphere was thrilled with the different sounds of animals made by the little buddies.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. Celebrated Dussehra with cultural fervour on October 14, 2021. A whole gamut of activities such as making of Ravana effigy, enactment of characters from Ramayana, recitation of hymns from Ramayana, etc. were organized. The tiny tots attired as characters of Ramayana such as Rama, Sita, Laxman, Hanuman, Ravana, etc.

Conveying his greetings to the students and teachers, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools cited many examples from Lord Rama’s life and encouraged them to incorporate principles and ideals practiced by Lord Rama in their life.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32,Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated ‘Halloween Day’ with a fun filled exciting Fancy Dress Parade in the kindergarten wing.

The little angels participated in various activities. Superheroes, Fairies, Witches and other interesting characters walked around with a thrill. Expressing their artistic skills, the tiny tots prepared Scary Haloween masks and pumpkins.

Kids were excited to be in the costumes of their favourite horror characters as Dracula, Witch, Ghost, Bhoot Boss etc.. The effort and hard work of children was highly appreciatd.

ThePrincipal of the school, Ms. Vinita Sanan said that it was a delight to watch the children speak about their favourite horror character that they were dressed up as. She appreciated the students with her precious words of encouragement.

On the whole, the day proved to be fulfilling experience for the little ones and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents. The children had a wonderful time.

 

Junior Master-Minds of Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Shine in Inter-Class Quiz Contest

To provide ample scope of learning and exploration of facts and knowledge, an Inter-Class Quiz Contest was organized at Green Land Convent School Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. Brilliant students from classes IV to VIII participated in the quiz contest. Students were divided in four teams: Team- A The Smarties, Team -B Quiz Masters, Team -C Challengers, Team- D Whizkids.

Four rounds, viz. General Round, Rapid Fire Round, Buzzer Round and Visual Round were conducted. Participants took part most excitedly in all the rounds. There were many questions for the audience also, which added fun to the quiz contest. The students enjoyed answering the varied questions.

Each participant proved his/her mettle by answering the questions correctly and confidently. Each team gave quite a tough competition to rival teams. It was knowledge enriching experience for both the participants and the audience. Team -C Challengers won the contest ; Team -A the Smarties stood second ; Team-B Quiz Masters bagged the third position.

Students of Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Chd. Road celebrated Krishna Janmashtami, an annual commemoration of birth of the Hindu deity Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu, on the school campus on August 27, 2021

Tiny tots of Primary Wing were beautifully dressed up as Krishna and Radha. Images of Krishna’s infancy were placed in a cradle, made by students. The school was beautifully decorated with banners, streamers, confetti, and tableaus depicting various events from the life of Lord Krishna. In the background hymns eulogizing feats of Lord Krishna were played. Fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of burning incense and jingle of the bells reverberated in the air. Small skits, signifying Janmashtami’s message of victory of good over evil, were shown to kids.

In his message to students and teachers, the Chairman of Green Land Chain of Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra said Lord Krishna’s life inspires one and all, and students should endavour to emulate the ideals epitomized by Him. He told them how Lord Krishna brought liberty, freedom, joy, and hope in every human being’s life. The moment he was born, he ended the incarceration of his parents. He rid the society of many evil forces, making life secure for the people of his time. He explained the significance of words of Holy Aarti, and urged on the students to do it devoutly and sincerely.

Green Land Convent School Sec-32, Ludhiana added yet another chapter of success to their success story book with their topnotch performance in CBSE Class X result which was declared on August 3, 2021.

Scoring 99.2 % (496 marks out of 500), Niharika Mehta topped the school and created history for herself as well as the school. Bhawik Kharod secured the second position with 98.4% (492 marks out of 500) and Nidhi Kapoor stood third with 96.2% (488 marks out of 500). 31 students of the school scored more than 90% and brought laurels to the institution. Defying all the odds of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, the students achieved this academic feat through sheer hard-work, commitment and dedication.

Green Land Convent School Sec-32 Ludhiana, brought academic laurels to school in AISSCE examinations results 2021, declared on July 30, 2021.

Vaani Gupta and Ritika topped in Non-Med stream whereas Saloni Kumari topped in medical stream by scoring 97.4% in aggregate; Diya Goyal, Gurkiranjot Kaur secured the top positions by scoring 97.2 % in the Commerce Stream; rivalling her fellow classmates in other streams, Jyoti Madhok outperformed in Arts by scoring 97.4%. 55 students from various streams scored more than 90% out of 159 students. Mango Day' was celebrated in Green Land Convent School,Sec-32,Chd.The tiny tots of kindergarten exhibited their performances gracefully.

Children had pinned up the mango-shaped colourful cut-outs. The little munchkins recited beautiful rhymes on Mango. Students were told about the various forms of its consumption such as- mango shake, ice cream, jam, pickle, chutney etc.

Principal Ms Vinita Sanan briefed the students about its being the king of fruits, not only for its taste and fleshy yellow colour but also, for the nutrients it offers like- vitamin-C and vitamin-A. This fibrous fruit boosts our digestive system and prevents from getting heat- stroke.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32,Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated PARENTS’ DAY on July 25,2021. Various online activities were organized for students to make them realize and perceive the value of parents in their life.

It enabled the students to recognize that the parents provide a sense of belonging and a unique identity to them. It also created a special emotional feeling in the students about their parents. Students participated in many activities one day prior. Tiny tots of P.Nsy-KG presented a Solo Dance using props whereas Poem Recitation was done by the students of classes I-III. Students of classes IV-VIII expressed  their emotions for parents in the form of Essay Writing and singing Rap Songs whereas Slogan Writing was done by the students of classes IX-XII.It was a great fun for kids and memorable for all. He said, “This day is the day to express gratitude towards one's Gurus. Green Land Convent School celebrated the National Civil Services Day on April 21, 2021.

To mark the occasion declamation contests were held in classes IX to XII. Students presented absorbing speeches on Civil Servants: Steel Frame of India, Civil Services and Responsibilities Towards Society and Nation and Patriotism Versus Civil Services. The viewers were impressed by their rhetoric and oratorical skills. Praising the participants, the Principal, Ms. Vinita edified them to be single-mindedly focused and determined to achieve success in all spheres of their life.

Interacting with the students enlightened the students about National Civil Services, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the Chairman of Green Land Chain of Schools, enlightened the students that the civil service is known as the spine of the administration of the country. The civil service in India includes Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and the central Group A and Group B services in the country. An Online Power Point Presentation Competition was organised at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32,Chd. Road, Ldh for the classes VI to VIII to raise awareness among students about the diversity of cultural heritage across the world .Students experienced the varied flavours of the country’s rich cultural legacy through their presentation on different themes such as ‘Share Culture, Share Heritage and Share Responsibility, ‘Rural landscapes’ , ‘Our Indian Culture and Heritage’ , ‘Atithee Devo Bhava’ etc.. Students participated in this completions with enthusiasm and zeal. This was an endeavour to sensitize the children about their rich cultural heritage.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana Celebrates 130th Birth Anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar with Elan

Green Land Convent School celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhima Rao Ambedkar, the architect of the ‘Constitution of India, on April 14, 2021.

A wide spectrum of activities, ranging from special morning assembly featuring Babasaheb Ambedkar, one-act play on his life, slogan-writing, etc. were organized to commemorate his 130th birth anniversary.

The Chairman, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, also conveyed his greetings on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion he enumerated upon the various qualities of the architect of the constitution. He further explained to the students that patience and courage were the secrets behind the phenomenal success of Babasaheb Ambedkar that he achieved in all spheres of his life. Keeping him as role-model, we should also endeavor to overcome obstacles in our path and clinch success. He also urged on the students and teachers that they should not only claim their rights, but be equally aware and responsible towards their duties also.

Addressing the students on the occasion, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan also made them aware of their responsibilities toward their nation. Talking about the Constitution, and being the citizens of India, we must all abide by it. We must honour the national flag, anthem, and endeavor to safeguard national unity and integrity.

 

“An Online Poem Recitation” organised at Green Land Convent School, Sec- 32 Chd. Road, Ldh.

An Online English Poem Recitation Competition was organised at Green Land Convent School for the classes I to V.  Students showcased their poetic skills on different topics such as ‘My School , My Pride’ , ‘Happiness’ , ‘Nature’ , ‘Hope’ etc.. All the participants presented their poems in beautiful  manner using  colourful props and placards. The young poets enthralled everyone with their articulation and memory skills while reciting poems. The students recited the poem with perfect expressions, thoughts, emotions, rhythm and music of words.

The Chairman of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra appreciated the efforts of participants and motivated them to participate in such activities to explore their hidden talents.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. celebrated Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birth anniversary with devotional fervor on January 19, 2021. A special congregation was held at the school to pay obeisance to our tenth Guru. Students recited holy Gurbani, which filled the devotees with divine tranquility. The students attending online classes partook in the congregation through online streaming of the proceedings of the congregation.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion Ms. Vinita Sanan, the Principal mentioned about the multi-faceted divinity that was perceptible in the Guru since his childhood and the sacrifices he made to save the religious freedom of the Hindus from the Mughal dictators.  She further urged the students and teachers to incorporate and practice Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s teachings of self-sacrifice in their thoughts, words, and deeds to achieve phenomenal academic and general success in their life.

 

GREEN LAND CONVENT SCHOOL, SEC-32 WELCOMED STUDENTS OF CLASS V TO VIII AFTER PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN

The premises of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd Road, Ludhiana echoed with the elated ‘Good Morning Madam’ as the school kick-started regular offline classes form V – VIII also after COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. The Principal and the staff welcomed the students excitedly in the school premises.

Proper arrangements were made by the school authorities following the instructions laid down under Standard Operating Procedure (SOP`s). The students were ecstatic to be able to attend regular classes, which they had been missing so much. .

Welcoming the students exuberantly, the Principal, MS Vinita Sanan, expressed to the students how eagerly the school staff had been waiting for their attendance; she further instructed them to wear masks, follow social distancing and other safety protocol.

 

Green Land Convent Celebrated Lohri Festival

Green Land Convent Sr. Sec. School, Sector -32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated Lohri Festival with exuberance and cultural fervour on January 11, 2021.

The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. The function started with speeches in English and Punjabi highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the bone-chilling winter. The students had a campus party in which they danced to the tune of popular Punjabi songs. Inter-house singing competition was held. The classes were decorated beautifully with hand-made kites, buntings, and charts.

A bonfire was set up around which the students gathered and offered traditional offerings into the holy fire. Interacting with the students and teachers, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan dilate upon the historical and religious significance of the festival, and wished them Happy Lohri.

Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, CHd. Road, LDH. Resumes Voluntary Attendance for Students

Green Land Convent School , Sec. 32, CHd. Road, LDH. resumed voluntary attendance of students on October 20, 2020 after a hiatus of approximately six months for classes IX to XII. Schools across the nation had been closed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

As per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Human Resource Development (Government of India) regarding the students attending the schools, academic activities were kicked off at the school campus. Students from classes IX to XII attended the school from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Students who opted to attend online classes, will continue to attend the classes from home.

Students were accorded warm welcome by the teachers; as they entered the school portals, they were showered with flower petals. Each and every student was sanitized and their body temperature measured, using digital infra-red thermometers.  

Addressing the students in the morning assembly the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan autioned the students to observe safety guidelines and social distancing protocol, while attending the school.

Students answered thought provoking questions in various rounds such as rapid-fire, audio-input, and visual input rounds.

All classes put up a good show, however the students of class IInd won the contest in a nail-biting finish.

Students of kindergarten turned up attired as traffic lights and other road safety signs; poems on “Traffic Lights”, “Road Safety” were recited; presentation about Road safety rules was also shown to students.

Green Land Convent School Sec 32, Chd Road celebrated Basant Panchami with cultural and devotional fervor on January 30, 2020. Basant Panchmi is an occasion which marks the onset of the ‘Spring Season’. It is also celebrated to worship Goddess Saraswati, the symbol of knowledge and wisdom.

To mark the occasion, the tiny tots of the Kindergarten came attired in yellow clothes, offered yellow coloured flowers to the Goddess and also brought yellow coloured snacks to share with each other.

Beautiful pieces of art related to Basant Panchmi were decorated on the boards. The creativity of children was reflected in the displays. A floral rangoli with yellow and orange coloured flowers signifying the brilliance of nature and the vibrancy of life also adorned the hall of celebrations.

A special assembly was held on this day. It started with the children and teachers singing the ‘Saraswati Vandana’. This was followed by a presentation on the various aspects of the festival.

The Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan paid floral obeisance to the idol of goddess Saraswati and invoked the Goddess to bless all students to do excellent in their studies and coming Board Exams.

Green Land Convent School Sec 32, Chd Road organized Inter School Group Dance Competition for member schools in ‘Hubs of Learning’ on January 25, 2020. Students of classes VI to VIII from reputed schools in the city participated in it and presented capturing dance performances on the theme ‘Patriotism.’ The judges were mesmerized with each presentation and had to exert their faculties to the utmost point in selecting the best three performances.

Sacred Soul Convent School, Dugri won the first position, DCM Presidency School Jamalpur Colony, Ludhiana bagged the second position and Green Land Convent School, Phase-II, Dugri, Ldh won the third position. Appreciation awards were given to Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar and Saint Bir Santosh Public School, Ludhiana.

Green Land Convent School Sec-32, reverberated with celebrations of the 11th gala Annual Prize Distribution Function on 18th December, 2019. The theme of the function was Shakti. Mr. Sanjay Talwar, MLA East Ldh. was the Chief Guest of the day. Ms. Priyanka, the Joint Ce,mmissioner of lncome Tax Department, Ludhiana, Councilors, Mr. Vineet Bhatia, Mrs Taparia, and Mr. Mono Khinda also graced the occasion as a guest of honour. The distinguished luminaries were accorded a warm welcome by the Chairman of the Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the President of the Trust Dr. Shabad Rudhra, General Secretary of the Trust Mrs. Usha Rudhra, Director Green Land Convent School, Dugri, Ms. Vijayata, and the Principal of the host School Mrs. Vinita Sanan. The other dignitaries gracing the occasion were th,e Principals of all Green Land Schools, Mrs. Baldeep Pandher, Mrs. Jyoti Pujara, Mrs. Mona Thakur, Mrs. Ritu and the other eminent members of the School Management Committee.

Shakti, a choreography on the theme Save Girl and Women Empowerment received an 'encore'from the audience.

Performances such as Shiv Aradhna, dedicated to omnipotent Lord Shiva; a Choreography Ashoka-The GreaU Play 'Chidiyan Da Chamba' highlighting the issue of gender-discrimination in our society; and Pita Ek Sutradhar depicting the Father's contributions in every man's life,'received standing ovations.

The Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan'read out the school's annuat report, highlighting school's achievements in sports and academics during the academic sessions 2017-18 & 2018- 2019.

Green Land Convent School, Sector 32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana welcomed ‘New Year 2020’ with great enthusiasm and joviality. Students decorated the front office and the hall with buntings, flowers, balloons, lights and ‘Happy New Year’ labels. Solo dance competition from classes I to V was also organized. The participants spellbound the audience with their energetic performances. The performers were applauded and awarded certificates. The celebration hall resounded with ‘HAPPY NEW YEAR WISHES’.

Green Land Convent School Sector - 32, Chd. Road. Ludhiana Athletes stole the show with their flawless and agile performances at  Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex –(Central Zone) Athletics Tournament  for Under-19 (Girls and Boys) held at Green Land  Sports Stadium Manj Phagowal, Ldh. About 20 teams of CBSE affiliated Schools  participated in the tournament.
In the category of U-19 (Girls) Harman Kaur of XI Arts bagged Silver Medal in Long Jump, Harpreet Kaur of XII Arts won Bronze Medal in Shotput, Gurkiranjot kaur of XI Commerce bagged Bronze Medal in discus throw, Harjeet Kaur of XI Science won Bronze Medal in 200 Meter race, whereas in the category of U-19 (Boys) Lakshay Arora of class XI Arts bagged silver medal, giving cut throat competition to his competitors.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana organized a poem composition and recitation competition for classes VI to IX. The students were given various topics such as: Nature, My School Bag, Childhood, My Mother. All the students participated with enthusiasm and enjoyed the beauty of expression, thought, feelings, rhyme, rhythm and music of words. The competition inspired the children to come forward, compose poem and recite them on the stage. Students were adjudged on the parameters like content, voice modulation, rhythm, confidence and presentation. The winners were awarded certificates by the Principal.

The NCC Cadets of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana Conducted  ‘Swacchta Pakhawada Rally’ with an aim to create awareness about the importance of cleanliness in the day to day life of people of nearby areas of the school. The NCC cadets interacted with local vendors and made them aware about Swacchta Pakhwada Movement initiated by our worthy Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. About 52 cadets of NCC 3PB battalion attended the rally under the guidance of Col. B.S. Pundhir and commenced a walk from the school campus to the market of sector-32 to spread a message of cleanliness through slogans ‘Clean City Healthy City’. Everyone collected the garbage spread on the route and disposed it properly. The rally evoked a sense of responsibility in the cadets and made them aware of their role in furthering the Swachhta Phakhawada Movement. At the end all the cadets took pledge to maintain cleanliness and spread this message around.
Speaking to the cadets on the occasion, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan appealed to them to play an active role in maintaining cleanliness all around them  and also lauded them for volunteering for the noble cause.

 

LSSC (Central Zone) Power Point Presentation Competition

It was a proud moment for Green Land Convent School Sector 32, Chd. Road when it got an opportunity to host LSSC (Central Zone) Power Point Presentation Competition for 2019-20. The competiton was organised for classes IX to XII. Thirteen teams from different CBSE schools participated in the competition. The topics for the Math category were: Mathematics: A Scientific Tool, Mathematics &Arts , Mathematics & Nature , Magic Of Vedic Maths ; and the topics for the science category were: Thermal Conductivity , Application Of Bernoulli’s  Principle , Desalinating Water For Future Supply , Gene Therapy : A Corrective Therapy. Each team was to prepare two PPTs. The time limit for each presentation was 4 to 6 minutes for Maths as well as for Science. The experienced professors of Science and Mathematics judged the PPTs on content, Individual Presentation, Designing , Layout and Special Effects. The results of the competition are as follows:

Vedic Declamation Contest Held At Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana

Green Land Convent School, Sec 32, Chd Road, Ludhiana organised ‘Vedic Declamation Contest’ under the guidance of ‘Ved Prakash Society’ with an aim to enhance fluency, awareness, expression and confidence among students.
Students of Classes VII to X participated and delivered speeches on topics such as - A Boon or a Curse, Value of Ethics in Modern Life, Discipline etc. The winners,  Manmeet Kaur of Class X, Sidak and Abdul Ahad of Class VIII impressed the gathering with their oratorical skills.

The Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan lauded the effort of the pupils and expressed that such competitions lead to free flow of ideas and integration of lingual fluency.

 

Celebrated World Television Day

Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana celebrated World Television Day on Nov. 21, 2019 to make students aware of the importance of TV in spreading valuable information that influences almost all aspects of life and formation of public opinion in key issues of the society.

The talented students of Class-II presented Television acts presenting news, TV debate and advertisements flawlessly.

Addressing the students and the staff, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan dilated upon the merits and demerits of Television and also enlightened the students how to make best use of this wonderful tool through regulated and controlled TV watching.

 

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 , Chd. Road, Ludhiana Celebrates Birthday of Mickey Mouse

The Kindergarten students of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road celebrated  Birthday of Mickey Mouse with great zeal and enthusiasm in the Kindergarten wing. The kindergarten section was decorated on the theme of “Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse". Jubilant and excited kids posed for photographs with their favourite cartoon characters. The children sang "Happy Birthday  to Mickey”. They had relished delicious cakes and pastries. The students were all bubbling with cheer and energy. All the tiny tots enjoyed the day dancing, singing and eating cakes.

Addressing the students and teachers on the occasion, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan told the teachers that such fun- filled activities make learning truly effective and long- lasting.

 

KartarSinghSarabha2019

A hearty homage was paid to Kartar Singh Sarabha a great freedom fighter at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd Road, Ldh. The story of his bravery was told by the Principal, MS. Vinita Sanan in her address. She told the students that the freedom that we are enjoying is the result of the efforts of such freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our nation’s freedom. She stressed that the contribution of this great son of India can’t be ignored as we learn selfless sacrifice and dedication from him.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated Children’s Day with great fervour and enthusiasm to commemorate 130th Birth Anniversary of our First Prime Minister Pandit Jawarhar Lal Nehru . Today, it was teachers’ turn to entertain the students. Students were full of eagerness and anticipation after looking at their classes decorated with colourful balloons and buntings. Picnic was organised for classes Pre-Nursery to IV, they enjoyed the day with various games and activities including nature walk, animal patting and feeding, camel ride etc. The gleam in their felicity. A unique exuberance prevailed in the school when motivational movies ‘ Matilda’ and ‘I am Kalam’ were shown to students of classes V to XII. To add colours to this celebration a cultural show was also organised wherein the dance and song performances of teachers were greatly admired by the students.

The programme culminated with an inspirational pep talk given by the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan. She encouraged students to be honest, hardworking and optimistic. She also reminded teachers their goal to bring the best in every child as they are the future of the world.

 

Celebrates 550th Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji with Religious Fervour

Green Land Convent School, Sec. 32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana celebrated Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th Birth Anniversary with piety and spiritual fervour. The celebrations commenced with ‘Naam Simran Jaap’ followed by recital of holy hymns eulogizing the Akalpurkh. Students paid obeisance to Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji through poems and Shabad Gayan.

The Kirtan filled the atmosphere with serenity and calmness. The celebrations concluded with ‘Kadah Parshad’ distribution.

Addressing the congregation, the Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan expounded the universal teachings of the eternal Guru; she also emphasized the need to practice these teachings to live a peaceful and contented life.

 

OutShines in LSSC Central Zone Badminton Tournament

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana lads brought laurels to the school when they clinched Second Position in Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex (Central Zone) Badminton Tournament held at Green Land Convent School, Civil city, Ludhiana on November 04 to November 07, 2019. The extremely fit, agile and energetic students ---- Mayank kapoor of class V, Angadjot singh and Kavin Goswami of Class VI, Divyansh Soni of class VIII    won Silver Medals in  U-14 boys category . The victory was like another feather added to the cap of Green Land’s sports achievements.

The Chairman of the schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of the students and their coach .

Holds Healthy Tiffin Competition

With an objective to create awareness about healthy and dietary food habits among the little stars, Green Land Convent School, Sector 32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana Organised ‘Healthy Tiffin  Competition’ among students of classes I and II. They were asked to bring home cooked nutritious food in their tiffins and to speak about its nutritional facts.

Scrumptious delicacies prepared by the mothers of young students such as Fruit Chaat, Sprouted Bhel, Salads, Sandwitches etc. displayed on  table mats along with other culinary articles, were feast to eyes.

The Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan, who herself is an accomplished connoisseur, appreciated the students for bringing such nourishing delectable food items in their tiffins. She also lauded the efforts of teachers for spreading the message of  ‘ A Healthy Mind Lives in a Healthy Body’ among the students.

 

Celebrates National Unity Day

Green Land Convent School Sec- 32  celebrated October 31, the 144 Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day), in the school campus to pay tribute to the efforts of the country's First Home Minister of India. The day was celebrated with zeal and patriotic fervor and the message of cleanliness, unity, integrity and security of the country was conveyed to the students. Celebrations began with students taking the National Unity Day pledge in the morning assembly. To mark the occasion, Students of classes XI and XII conducted a Rally carrying the message of unity, patriotism and nationalism.

Spelling Bee Competition

“Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters”.
Green Land Convent School, Sector 32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana organized ‘Spelling Bee Competition’ with the aim to awaken excellence, promote values and provide an opportunity for students to meet and compete with their peers in an atmosphere of fun and friendship. All the students of grades III, VII and VIII participated with high level of enthusiasm. Several students achieved same number of words correctly demonstrating that they all could be the winners. Winners of each section were awarded with Merit Certificates.

Holds Punjabi Declamation Contest

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana organized Punjabi Declamation Contest for Class X with an aim to make students learn the skill of combining eloquent language with equally eloquent delivery. Students declaimed on the Social Issues of Punjab like Water Scarcity, Importance of Mother Tongue, Drug Addiction, Junk Food.  All students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The competition witnessed a neck and neck struggle of dexterous articulation between the participants. The students who clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions are Ayushman, Gunveet Kaur and Gungun. The winners were applauded with Merit Certificates.

The Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan  appreciated  the winner and said this competition was one of the numerous enjoyable competition and gave students a platform to improve their language, oratory skills and build up the confidence.

 

Organized Master Chefs Cooking Without Fire Activity

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana organized inter-class  Cooking without Fire Activity for kindergarten students. Little hands prepared delicious dishes cooked without fire for class party with the help of their class Incharges. Many mouth-watering delicacies such as Creamy salad, Dry fruit biscuit, chocolate balls, Sandwiches, Fruit cake, Sprouted salad , chocolates chops sandwiches etc. were prepared by the budding Chefs of Green Land.

OUTSHINES IN PUNJAB STATE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP

It was a proud moment for Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana when energetic School Chess Team (U-19 Girls) brought laurels for the school by bagging first runner up position in Punjab State Chess Championship held at Government School, Barnala from October 20 to October 22, 2019. Twenty two district teams participated in the championship. The exuberant girls Niharika, Taranjot and Jasleen of class IX bubbled with enthusiasm when they were awarded Trophy. Shining Sports Star Niharika will give trials for the National to be held at Kolkata.

 

Organizes Fancy Dress Competition for Tiny Totsn

Green Land Convent School, Sector 32 Chd. Road, Ludhiana Organised ‘Fancy Dress Competition’ for Kinder Garten classes with an aim to bring out hidden talent in tiny tots and to install confidence in them. Children of classes Nursery and K.G showcased their talent by dressing up as various characters like scientists, doctors, fairies, Freedom Fighters and so on. Students were full of zeal and enthusiasm while presenting themselves on stage. It was a delight moment to watch the children as they came up and spoke about the characters they were dressed up. The winners were given accolades.

LSSC Central Zone Recitation Competition

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana won the Inter School Poetry Recitation Competition for Primary wing held on 10th October 2019 at Ryan International School. Approximately 100 students from 20 schools participated in this competition .

Jessica of Class IV and  Kanika of Class V were adjudged first in their respective categories sand Agamleen of Class I was declared second. The budding orators of Green Land Sector -32, Ludhiana mesmerized the audience with their flawless oratorical skills.

Kunal Rai, Shubham Kanda and Shivam Kanb represented the school and impressed the selectors with their chess playing skills. Kunal Rai was selected for the State Level Tournament.

Green Land Convent School, Sec.32,Chd. Road, Ludhiana brought laurels to the school when they clinched medals at Ludhiana Schools District Swimming Tournament held at Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana on September 19 to September 20, 2019. The extremely fit, agile and energetic youngster Arshpreet Singh of class VIII Showcased magnificent performance and grabbed Second Position (Silver Medal) in 50 Meter Breast fly, 100 Meter Butterfly in U-14 (Boys) category. He also won First Position (Gold Medal) in 100 Meter Butter stroke. Another Student Ravinoor Singh of class VII continued with the high spirit and was able to claim First Position(Gold Medal) 100 Meter Free style and Second Position(Silver Medal) in 50 Meter  Breast stroke and back stroke respectively in Under -14(Boys) Category. It was the moment of pride for school when both the students were declared to be selected for State Level Swimming Tournament.

A determined lad of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd.Road, Ludhiana grabbed bronze medal in Central Board of Secondary Education North Zone-2 TAEKWONDO Tournament organized by  Rajendra Public School , Sirsa. Rajesh Singh student of class –XII participated with full enthusiasm and stood Third winning Bronze Medal in U-19 Boys category below 74 kg weight and displayed his strong sportsmanship.

OUTSHINES IN PUNJAB SCHOOLS ZONAL WUSHU TOURNAMENT

Sports have always been a very spirited form of activity which has motivated many to come forth and enjoy the game. With this spirit, the young and enthusiastic players of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chandigarh Road participated in Punjab schools Zonal Wushu Tournament held at Multipurpose Hall, Guru Nanak Stadium on September 03 and 4 September ,2019. It was for the first time when students were exposed to a high volatile competition to play against a number of participating teams. U-17, U-19(girls) and U-19 (Boys) performed amazingly well and won the overall trophy, whereas U-17 (Boys) clinched first Runner-up trophy and made the school proud with their mesmerizing performance. It gives immense pleasure to announce that 17 students have been selected for state level Wushu tournament to be held in Mohali from September 26 to October 1 ,2019

Celebrates Janmashtami – The Incarnation of Lord Krishna

Janmashtami the pious day of Lord Krishna’s incarnation on the earth was celebrated with religious fervor at Green Land Convent school, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana in order to make children aware of the Rich Hindu Mythology.

Colour was brought to the occasion when children were dressed in fancy attires resembling mythological characters. Little Krishna and Gopies were looking adorable in colourful dresses on this occasion. The mesmerizing tableaux presenting the life spans of Lord Krishna were displayed very beautifully. There were much festivities and everyone rejoiced by holding Dahi Handi. Songs and dances based on krishna’s life, ‘Meethe Ras and Namo Namah’, added to the religious fervor of the auspicious day. The entire environment filled with pious feelings when students recided joyfully “Govinda Aala Re Aala”.

Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the Chairman of the chain of Green Land Schools congratulated the students and made them aware about different aspects of Lord Krishna’s life. He talked about ‘Karma Theory’ that if our karmas are good, only then we can enjoy life and he added that the education is incomplete without religion.

In under 17 category Mridul thakur, Sunaina kumari & Aashiyam Puri and in Under-19 category Rhythm Tyagi are selected for District Level.

Road, Ludhiana Lads brought laurels to the school when they clinched medals at Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex  (Central) Swimming Championship held at Budding Brown International School, Raikot. The extremely fit, agile and energetic youngster Arshpreet Singh of class VIII grabbed four gold medals in (U-14 boys) 50M Breast Stroke, 100M Breast Storke, 50M Butterfly Stroke, 200M Individual Medley. He also captured the Best Swimmer Award. Furthermore, Ravinoor Singh of class VII kept the spirit high by winning one gold medal in(U-12 boy)  50M Back Stroke and three silver medals in 50M Free  Style, 50M Breast Stroke and 200M Individual Medley respectively. It was a proud moment when the school was declared 2nd Runner up of LSSC Swimming championship.

Organizes Rakhi Making Competition

Green Land Covent School, Sec-32,Chd. Rd. Ludhiana Organizes Rakhi Making Competition for the student of primary & seniors wing. The motive behind organising this competition was to enhance the skills of creativity, competence and nurturing the inner talent of young ones and the importance of the festival.

The students of the school made rakhis with colourful ribbons, glitters, mirrors, craft papers etc. The little ones of the school, tiny toddlers made rakhis with the help of their teachers. The students of classes VIII to X made beautiful cards to soldiers at the border. They expressed their gratitude on the occasion of Rakhsha Bandhan. Children also expressed their heart felt feelings through beautiful messages in the form of write-ups.  All the students participated with great zeal and zest. A fusion of modern with traditional styles was seen in the rakhis.

The Principal Ms. Vinita Sanana appraised about the importance of Raksha Bandhan and appreciated the effort of all the participants.

 

Teej Celebrations at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ludhiana

With a view to welcome ‘Sawan’ the festival of rain, Teej Carnival was organized at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana. Today on occasion of Teej Celebration the school was reverberated with enthusiasm. The festivity was giving an enchanting look to Rich Punjabi Culture. To add vibrance to Teej Carnival a cultural fete was organized. It was an effort to promote opportunities for students to experience our rich culture and develop important life skills like organizational, Presentation, leadership and interpersonal communication. Eatable stalls were the attraction of the day. There were many ‘Life Skill Games’ to entertain the students and to inculcate in them the value of team spirit. Children participated whole heartedly in all the games. Students enjoyed swings too which were decorated with flowers and gave a charming look. Green Land convent school, Sec 32 Chd. Road, Ludhiana conducted a Special Assembly to pay a tribute to Sheed–E-Azam S. Uddam Singh. Students of class – IV Bacon participated with great zeal. Sanchi Bansal presented the life story of the great revolutionary, whereas Harmanjot kaur shared flashbacks of the incidents which painted the pages of Indian History in Pitch black and made S. Udham Singh a freedom fighter. The assembly concluded with the patriotic songs sung by the coir of the school. The event was successful in motivating the students to love their mother land.

Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan shared her thoughts on this occasion and said that Sardar Udham Singh was all for the unity and solidarity of the country. His life bears lessons for all of us to live the life of sacrifices.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana lads unfurled the flag of victory in LSSC (Central Zone) chess competition held at Ryan International School, Dugri. Eighteen teams participated In the competition. In U-14 (Boys) Harshvardhan Singh of class IX bagged 1st position whereas in U-17 (Boys) Mann Sharma of class XI (Science) bagged third position. Winners were awarded with trophies .

Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan congratulated the winners and stated that victory has to be maintained because it is the fruit of hard labour that they have put forward to attain it.

The song touched the innermost chord of hearts, evoked the spirit of patriotism and inspired the children to love their country. Moreover, the performance highlighted the true essence of peace and harmony.

Paper Bag Making competition was organised with an aim to motivate students to reduce the use of plastic bags. The enthusiastic students of class III showcased their creativity and artistic skills by making beautiful paper bags and decorated them vibrantly  using innovative ideas. The day was dedicated to do well for the environment and social causes round the world. The winners were given accolades. All the students exchanged their handmade paper bags as  gifts.

A Purifying Ritual – Hawan at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32

Green Land Convent School performed “ Hawan Ceremony” to seek blessings of the almighty for the students for the beginning of the session 2019-20. A huge crowd of students of all classes led by the Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, General Secretary Ms. Usha Rudhra, President of the Trust Mr. Shabad Rudhra, Director Dr. Vijayata Rudhra Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan and teachers prayed for an auspicious start of the session with the chanting of vedic Hymns and Mantras to seek the showering of Gods blessings. Various devotional mantras were recited by Pandit Sh. Ajay Vashisht  to invoke the blessings of heavenly God for making students dedicated and hardworking so that they can touch the pinnacle of glory in every field of life. School choir enthralled the audience with soul striving bhajans. Everyone was actively involved in the ceremony with deep faith and bonding to the Almighty.

Chairman Dr. Rajesh Rudhra quoted that the auspicious ceremony was aimed at infusing a sense of devotion into students and was conducted to introduce them righteous and virtuous value system of the school.

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh conducts seminar to enroll NCC cadets

In order to enroll cadets 3 Punjab NCC Batalion a Seminar was held at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh. Col. Haramanjeet Singh, Subedar Jaswinder Pal Singh, Subedar Gurmeet Singh, Hl. Balraj Singh came to enroll the students for NCC. Subedar Jaswinder Pal Singh and ANO Mr. Vikas Kumar conducted Physical & Oral Test of the students and selected the cadets. They enrolled 28 JD cadets. Col. Harmanjeet Singh motivated the students to join NCC. He made the students aware about the importance of NDA Examination in the selection of Army, Navy & Air force. The Director of the school Ms. Vinita Sanan stated that the main motive of NCC is to inculcate discipline and maintain unity amongst the students. The revered guest was thanked for guiding the students.

 

Green Land Convent School organizes Spelling Bee Competition

“Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters.”
Green Land Convent School, Sector 32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana organized ‘Spelling Bee Competition’ with the aim to (i) awaken excellence, promote values and provide an opportunity for students to meet and compete with their peers in an atmosphere of fun and friendship (ii) help students to learn spellings quickly and accurately (iii) encourage students to explore  English Language. All the students of grades 6 to 8 participated with high level of enthusiasm. The competition was tough as students were required to prepare spelling by reading any English newspaper dated April 24, 2019. Several students achieved same number of words correctly demonstrating that they all could be the winners.

Winners of each section were applauded with Merit Certificates.
Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan appreciated the students and said this competition was one of the numerous enjoyable competition and gave students a platform to improve their spellings, increase vocabulary, learn concepts and develop the use of correct English.  

 

GREEN LAND CELEBRATES EARTH DAY

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd.Road, Ldh celebrated ‘Earth Day’ to inspire more awareness and appreciation for Earth’s Natural Environment among students. Various activities were conducted like Inter House poster making competition (Class VI to XII), Fancy Dress Competition of tiny tots, Rally with Earth Day slogans (Class I) covered a wide variety of environmental issue.  It was a great platform for students to showcase their hidden talent. Students of class II & III mesmerised all teachers and students with their unique style of enactment displaying different ways to protect the environment. Whereas students of class IV to VI participated with great zeal and enthusiasm in declamation contest presenting their views on the topics like Earth our home planet, Reduce , Reuse, Recycle , save environment, Say no to plastic etc. In short social values of protection of environment were inculcated in students through various activities conducted in the school campus. Certificates of Merit and participation were awarded to students.

GREEN LAND CELEBRATES BAISAKHI AND FOUNDER’S DAY

The premises of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 Chd.Road, Ludhiana reverberated with Baisakhi Celebrations today. It was a double treat as Baisakhi coincided with the founder’s day of the school. The festivities started with grand cultural extravanganza a fruition of a collective dream that the students had worked to execute. It was a specular celebration with a delightful medleys of foot tapping music, spectacular dances, stunning power point presentation depicting the life of the farmers. The festive spirit achieved its greatest height with the Bhangra Performance when the students performed it in a synchronized steps in colourful attire which enthralled everybody. Celebrating the memories of ‘Founder’s Day’ a school song was sung.

Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, the school chairman cherishing the memories of Founder’s Day headed that foundation stone of Green Land was laid on April13, 1992 and since then the prestigious institution with four new branches of school has endeavoured to channelize the energy and creativity of young minds towards their overall development and perfection.

This day is observed to mark the founding of WHO. “Healthy Tiffin Contest” was  organized  for the students of  IV & V Std. VALEDICTION CEREMONY OF CLASS XII AT GREEN LAND CONVENT SCHOOL SEC-32

Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 had organized a magnificient farewell for the outgoing students of class XII in the school premises. The students of class XI hosted the heart felt adieu for the seniors. The ceremony “Jashan-E Ruksat” commenced with glorious programme, songs and dances. The warm hearted send off and the fun filled celebrations were graced by the honourable President of Chain of Green Land Schools, Mr. Shabad Rudhra and the school Principal, Ms. Vinita Sanan.

The students recalled their memories at Green Land. The ceremony where the teachers were bidding farewell to their students, filled with anticipation and emotions. The enthusiasm and gusto of the party peeled off its layers with smiles, tears, reminiscences. The dances and songs performed by the students mesmerized everyone. The thought provoking speeches by XII students made everyone sentimental. The cultural items galvanized everyone. The dance performance by XI made everyone dance on the beats of music. The audience was spell bound to see the performance of the juniors. Mehak a student of class XI presented melodious Ghazal. The students also presented a choreography on Father ‘Noor-E-Khuda’ In which students highlighted the contribution of Father in a Child’s life. Different games were arranged in which the students of class XII participated whole heartedly. Piya of Class XII Arts  expressed the gratitude to their Alma Mater for shaping and moulding them into a responsible and good individuals.

On the occasion President of the school Mr. Shabad Rudhra delivered motivational and encouraging lecture to the students, conveying the message of life to inculcate the values of sincerity, honesty and discipline to make their future bright. He guided all the students to accept the challenges of life with full vigour and zest. He wished that the spirit of a true Greenknight will remain alive in the students forever. He put stress on the importance of time in one’s life. He opined that time is the best teacher and the wisest counselor.

Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan enlightened the students to follow the path of moral values which ensure their success in life. She advised them not to compromise on their values for success because success without values is not consistent. Vasant Panchmi a festival marking the start of spring  season was celebrated with great funfare at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, chd. Road, Ldh. This day dedicated to goddess Saraswati began with group songs Saraswati Vandana & ‘Maa Sarswati Shardhe’ was performed to pay obedience to the Goddess.  This day is celebrated to mark the importance of ‘Rituraj’ Vasant the king of seasons. Different competitions were organized at school. The students sought blessings from the Goddess of Knowledge. Yellow costumes and traditional jewellery worn by tiny tots caught the eyes of the beholders. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan expressed joy and opined that in order to aware the children about our culture such festivals should be celebrated.

Birth Anniversary of Param Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj was celebrated with great faith and devotion at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32. On this auspicious occasion religious Shabads were recited. The Shabad ‘Aisa Gur Vadhbhagi Payiye’ and ‘Bin Boleyan Sab Kichch Janda’ filled the ambience with devotion and faith.

REPUBLIC DAY AT GREEN LAND CONVENT SCHOOL SEC-32, CHD ROAD, LDH.

70th Republic Day was celebrated at Green Land Convent School Sec-32, Chd Road, with great zeal and zest. The school was decorated with Tricolours Everyone was in a Jubilant mood, full of spirit of patriotism. Sh. Shabad Rudhra President of Chain of Green Land Schools, graced the occasion and enlivened the spirit of patriotism among the young budding citizens of India. The function began with unfurling of the Tricolour followed by the melodious rendition of National Anthem. The ambience of the school filled with patriotic fervor. The students performed cultural programme which highlighted glorious and unforgettable sacrifices of the martyers. The Group songs ‘Watan pe jo fida hoga’ &  ‘Sare Jahan Se Achha’ by students filled everyone with spirit of patriotism. The Oath taking ceremony was performed and the students were made aware to safeguard the most precious and hard-earned freedom of the country. The Choreography ‘Sarfaroshi’ conveyed very beautifully the patriotic fervor all around. It showcased wonderfully the struggle of patriots.
President Sh. Shabad Rudhra congratulated everyone on this auspicious occassion. Speaking on the occasion he explained the meaning of “Republic” to the students. He  exhorted not to forget the sacrifices of the martyrs. He enlightened the spirit of patriotism and stated that we must respect our Tricolours and never allow anyone to disrespect it.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME ABOUT CRIME & SAFETY HELD AT GREEN LAND CONVENT SCHOOL, SEC-32, CHD ROAD, LDH.

An awareness programme about crime & safety held at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd Road, Ldh. on 16 th Jan.2019. Sh. Dharam Paul ACP, CAW Cell and Ms. Neelu Sharma, Deputy District Attorney were the Resource Persons. They made the students aware about the prevailing crime in today’s society. The resource persons were welcomed by the Chairman of the school Dr. Rajesh Rudhra Ji. The students of X to XII attended the program. The program started with the Shabad “Deh Shiva Var Mohe hei”by the middle wing students of the school. Shri Dharam Paul ACP , CAW Cell gave Important tips regarding the safety and self defence. Slides related to the crime and safety were also shown to the students on the projector. He told students regarding the new apps on safety . Speaking on the occassion Ms. Neelu Sharma, Deputy District Attorney stated that women safety in India is a big concern. She advised the students to control their emotions and be confident to share their problems . If they are caught in any bad situation they must contact the police and use police helpline numbers without any hesitation. One should not hide anything from police. Mrs Neelu stated that to respect and protect women must be the first motto of the society. “Precaution is better than prevention”. Self Defence training must be given to the girls in the schools and colleges. She told girls to avoid a person or a situation which doesn’t feel safe. Use your sixth sense. Students must use the internet wisely. While communicating online, keep your personal information confidential. She discussed on crime against women, acid attack, sexual violence, human trafficking etc. She also made the students familiar about the crime and punishment by the law.

Dr. Rajesh Rudhra ji advised the girls to be bold and use police helpline numbers in case of any emergency. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan expressed her heartfelt thanks to the guests for creating consciousness and understanding among the girls students about their safety.

The students and staff were in jubiliant mood and looked very beautiful in their colourful attires. The celebration began with the lighting of bonefire. Gidda and Bhangra were presented by Tiny Tots and senior students. The children and teachers danced to the beats of Punjabi traditional Songs. Christmas Day was celebrated at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 Chd. Road, Ldh. with great enthusiasm. There was festivity in the air. The school was decorated with balloons & buntings. Students dressed as Santa Claus, Angels and Fairies. Everyone was in a hilarious mood. They danced and sang Christmas Carols & New Year songs. The tiny tots visited the senior classes and distributed sweets. The kindergarten students danced on the tune of Jingle Bells. The whole atmosphere was filled with zeal and enthusiasm.  Our little Santas and Fairies made the day joyous and memorable. LSSC (Central Zone) Group Dance Competition was organized at GRD Academy, Ludhiana in which many teams participated from different CBSE schools of Ludhiana. The Competition was divided into two categories, CategoryA (K.G. to II) and Category B (III to V). The students of the school participated in both the category and brought laurels to the school by winning 1st Prize in category A and 3rdprize in category B. The ambiance of the school premises was filled with serenity & tranquility. The students beautifully recited Shabads, ‘Kal Dharan Guru Nanak Aaiaan, Guru Ka Darshan Vekh Vekh Jiva, Mera Sunder Swami Ji, Thakur Tum Sharnai Aya, Satguru Nanak Pargteya and many more. Everyone was dazzled by the devout Hymns & Kirtan.

The students conveyed the holy message of Guruji very beautifully through speeches and poems emphasising the importance of truthfulness, love and peace. The students also highlighted the preaching of Guruji against superstitions and false rituals in their speech. On this auspicious occasion, Principal of the school Ms. Vinita Sanan motivated the students to follow the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. She congratulated all the students and teachers on this occasion. The celebration ended with distribution of Kadah Prasad.

The Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad, the first Union Minister of Education was observed as ‘National Education Day’ at Green Land Convent School Sec-32, Chd. Road Ludhiana. This day was celebrated in an excellent manner. Different activities were conducted in the school premises to pay heart-felt tribute to the eminent educationist & the great freedom fighter Maulana Azad. The students of classes IX & X participated in Slogan Writing Competition. The theme of the competition was “EDUCATION FOR ONE & ALL”. The school also organized elocution competitions in which students of X Std. participated. The Director Mrs. Vinita Sanan delivered the speech highlighting contribution of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad in the field of education. The Chairman of the school Sh. GREEN LAND CONVENT SEC-32 CELEBRATES CHILDREN’S DAY

To add vibrance to school atmosphere on Childrens’ Day, a ‘Funfair’ was organized at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. on 14th & 15th November, 2018. It was organized for the classes P.NSY-X. The festive spirit and enthusiasm of children was worth watching. On this occasion Poster Making Competition was organized to throw light on the achievements of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Posters made by children on various topics were put on display. In order to inculcate the team spirit among students, many stalls of games were organized like Hit the Target, Touch Me Not, Balloon Bursting, Coin in the bowl, Ring the object, Spin The Wheel and many more. To add colours to this gala event a cultural and musical show was also organized. The music in Orchestra spell bound  everyone with beats. ‘Lakdi Ki Kathi’, Nanha Munna Rahi Hoon, I Love My Teacher were the group songs which mesmerized everyone. On this auspicious occasion she conveyed the message to the students that failure comes only when we forget our ideals, objectives and Principles. The Paddlers from Green Land Convent school, Sec-32 emerged victorious in LSSC Table Tennis Tournament held at Darshan Academy, Bhamian, Ldh. Teams of both boys and girls from different CBSE schools participated in the competition. In Under-14, Under-17 & Under-19 Girls of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 secured First Position. In Under-14 Boys Category bagged Third Position. They worked very hard to achieve this goal.

Chairman Dr. Rajesh Rudhra congratulated the winners and stated that sports are the means to inculcate team spirit and confidence among children.

It was a gala time for Green Land Lasses when girls of Green Land Convent Sector – 32 Chandigarh Road excelled in Table Tennis CBSE Cluster Championship held at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s S.L. Public School, Amritsar. It was organized from 27th September, 2018 to 30th September, 2018. Under 19 girls brought fame for the school when they grabbed third position in the competition. Mehakjot Kaur of U- 19 category stood second individually and got the honours of being selected for National level. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan had all praise for the girls.

A cultural programme was also organized in the school premises. It started with obeisance to ‘Shakti Maa’ in the form of Vandana followed by a motivational choreography ‘Benevolence’ predicting philanthropy and duty of every citizen to bequeath for noble cause. With education, his main interest is in healing the wounds of humanity by contributing whole heartedly. He further stated that Green Land Group of Schools has always supported these type of efforts and stand by the country in every mishap. He further said Green Land students came forward to donate for flood affected people of Kerala. Dr. Rajesh Rudhra a famous educationist & Chairman of Chain of Green Land Schools expressed his heart-felt thanks to the Chief Guest Sh. Vijay Kumar Chopra the Chairman of Punjab Kesari who spared his precious time and honoured the institution with his graceful presence.

He further stated that many social welfare organizations have been running in the country through the motivation and inspiration of Sh. Vijay Kumar Chopra Ji. Wherever any natural calamity has risen within the country Punjab Kesari has always been the protagonist in helping the victims. Sh. Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 lads brought laurels to the school when they clinched medals at PAU in Punjab Board Swimming Tournament at District level. Ravinoor grabbed Silver Medal in 100 meter Free Style and Bronze Medal in 50 metres Back Stroke. Arshpreet won Bronze Medal in Breast Stroke in 100 metres. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan stated that such competitions give us confidence and help us move further in life.

Zone PAU unfurled the flag of victory in the grounds of Govt. School, PAU in an exciting final match of Cricket Tournament at District Level which was played between PAU V/S Ludhiana II where the team of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. bagged First Position. The hero of the winning team was Shubhdeep of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh.

In this fabulous match Ludhiana II won the toss and decided to bat. They scored 105 runs with the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Bharat of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 got two wickets in 4 overs and he gave 20 runs. Following the chase, Shubham of Green Land Convent School, sec-32 contributed 57 runs and remained not out till the inning ended, made the PAU team victorious with his hard toil. It was the untiring efforts of these two Green Landers that they made their team, coach and school proud. Green Land Convent, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. emerged victorious in Punjab School Board, Cricket Tournament at Zonal Level held at International Public School, Ldh. In Under-14 Boys grabbed I Position. Final Match was played between Green Land and I.P.S in which Green Land batted first with 118 runs in 15 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. In next inning I.P.S scored 68 runs in 14.5 overs consequently lost the match. Bharat Madhok with 61 runs, was the highest scorer in this match as well as in the tournament. Sh. Rajesh Rudhra Chairman-Cum Director of the school stated that such competitions should be held regularly to exhibit the plethora of talent amongst the children. The whole Green Land Convent School, sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh was reverberated with enthusiasm on the occasion of Janamashtami, the day of Shri Krishna’s incarnation, the apostle of love and religion. In the gala event, the school was decorated with buntings and balloons. The religious ambience of the school filled the atmosphere with devotion. Sh. Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman-Cum-Director was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The cultural programme commenced with a Bhajan in the praise of Lord Krishna. There were many teams from different schools of Ludhiana. Ayushmaan of IX std. spell bound everyone with his performance and clinched Best Actor Award with Rs. 1100/- Cash Prize. INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS AT GREEN LAND CONVENT SCHOOL,SEC-32

72nd Independence Day was celebrated at Green Land Convent School, Sec- 32 Chandigarh Road with great fan fare. The whole school was decorated with buntings and balloons of tri-colour. The students were dressed in the attires of great patriots and they filled the atmosphere with ‘Vande Matram’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. There was enthusiasm and cheer amongst students. Flag hoisting was done by Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan & the students of Kindergarten. All the staff were also present there. The star attraction was the dance by primary students. Teachers too recited patriotic songs. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan in her address exhorted the students to follow the footsteps of our martyrs and fight against the social evils prevalent in our country. The event ended with National anthem & Oath Ceremony.

GREEN LAND TAKES ANOTHER LEAP IN CLASS XII RESULT

It was a day of excitement for Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 when the result of XII was declared. Heading towards excellence, students of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 shined in all the streams. The whole atmosphere was drenched in enthusiasm at the fabulous result. 11
students scored 90% & above. In Non Medical stream, Salvia Batra brought laurel to the school by scoring 93.8% followed by Charanjot Singh (93%) and Shairal Sharma (91.2%) . Komalpreet scored aggregate of 93% in Medical, followed by Akarshan Kumar (90.6%). In Commerce stream - Varinderjit Singh scored an aggregate of 92% and Pooja Tarar scored 90.4%. In Humanity group,  Komal grabbed an aggregate of 93%, Anjani Moudgill scored 91.6% , Kanika & Chawi Choudhary got 90.2%.

In a vogue to invoke the rain, a ‘Pool Party’ was organized at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh for the K.G. wing. An artificial ‘Sea Beach’ was created with ‘Sand Pit’. Kids tapped their feet & enjoyed rain dance. Director of the school Ms. Vinita Sanan shared the fact that playing in sand & building sand castles inculcate a feeling of oneness with nature. She appreciated the efforts of the teachers for making the students enjoy in such an enthralling manner. Mother’s Day At Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh.

Mother, the incarnation of love and affection and an epitome of sacrifice was given a warm salute on the eve of Mothers’ Day. Students of various wings presented a cultural fiesta as a tribute to Mother and Motherhood. On the occasion, an essay writing competition was organized for classes IV-V with the theme ‘Mother- The First Teacher of Life’. There was a craft activity also for classes I-III. Students made beautiful photo frames, paper flowers and many things. For classes VI-VIII greeting card making competition was organized. Students made beautiful greeting cards. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan opined that children should respect their mothers because they are the guiding force behind all their endeavors.

 

A TAX AWARENESS DRIVE HELD AT GREEN LAND CONVENT SCHOOL SEC.32, LDH.

An informative and thought provoking session to create awareness among the students of senior classes about the importance of paying taxes was held at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32. on 3rd May, 2018 S. Arvinder Singh, Additional Commissioner Income Tax, Ludhiana, Mrs. Charu Madaan DEO, and Sh. Hari Narayan (Inspector) were the resource persons. This tax awareness drive has been initiated by the Government. A floral welcome was accorded by the Director of the school, Ms. Vinita Sanan to the Guests of the day. They planted a sapling 'Bottle Palm' to kindle a sense of responsibility among the future tax payers of the Nation. Sh. Hari Narayan addressed the students of the senior wing and asked the students to serve the Nation in an honest way. He said that for overall development of the country, good infrastructure, defence, education, health, etc. we should pay our taxes sincerely and timely. He also told them about the prestigious job opportunities in the lncome Tax Department. He sensitized the students of the senior wing about the importance of paying taxes. The students were made to take a pledge by S. Arvinder Singh that they would be responsible citizens of the society & to pay taxes honestly and in a rightful manner. Director of the School Ms. Vinita Sanan said that the aim of this awareness Programme is to spread tax awareness amongst the future tax payers and to inculcate the culture of taxation. She further appreciated the efforts made by the Government in initiating this move of spreading awareness about the tax payment at the root level. Fresher’s Party was organised at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh to initiate the active learning process of little kids and to mark the beginning of New Session for  Pre-Nsy and Nsy. It was a delight to watch little angels in colourful dresses. The confidence of the tiny tots walking the ramp was worthwatching.

Jaisneet Kaur won everyone’s heart with her beautiful smile. Jenisha Kalra & Vanya Jangra were declared Miss Photogenic. Saina, Sanaha & Akshay were awarded with Mr. & Miss Style icon. Pari & Jasnoor were crowned as Mr. & Miss Fashion Icon. Janvi & Prabhkirat got Mr. & Miss Healthy Skin Award. Rehatpreet Kaur secured the hash tag  of Miss Beautiful Hair Style.

A Purifying Ritual – Hawan at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32

On the occasion of Budh Purnima, and to mark the beginning of the session a Hawan was performed at Green Land Convent School Sec-32, Chd Road, Ldh Sh. Rajesh Rudhra Chairman –Cum-Director of Chain of Green Land Schools, General Secretary Ms. Usha Rudhra, President of the Trust Mr. Shabad Rudhra, Ms. Vijayata Rudhra Dr Shweta, Director of the school Ms. Vinita Sanan, Principal Ms. Gunmeet Kaur, staff & the students of XI-XII were also present on the occasion. Blessings of the Almighty were sought through recitation of Mantras and hymns (Shlokas) by Pandit Sh. Ajay Vashisht. Everybody was actively involved in the ceremony with deep faith and bonding to the God Almighty. All contributed in the ‘Purnahuti’.

Chairman Sh. Rajesh Rudhra in his speech made the students aware about the importance of Hawan and its significance. He stated that it creates vibration of positivity and synergises the energy. He discussed in detail about the importance of ‘Vedas’. He also stated the importance of ‘OM’ and opined that Hawan is an effort to create link with cosmic consciousness. The melodious ‘Bhajans’ by students mesmerized everyone. The ambience was filled with sacredness. The Hawan culminated with ‘Aarti’ ‘The offerings to the Almighty’.

 

Green Land Celebrates “International Dance Day"

A „Solo Dance Competition” for classes IV-VI was held on 28th April, 2018 at Green Land Convent School, sec-32 Chd. Road on account of “International Dance Day”.

The competition started with great zeal and enthusiasm. Young modernists were thrilled to be a part of colourful, vibrant and energizing event. Hands, feet and bodies decorated in colourful costumes, twinkled, flipped and jumped on the stage of the school. Different kinds of dance forms: western, contemporary, hip-hop, Rajasthani, Punjabi etc were performed by the pupils. The happiness of the children was evident in their expressions resulting in applause and appreciation.

The winners were awarded by the Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan. She congratulated the participants and appreciated the performance of the children and encouraged them.

 

National Panchayati Raj Day’ at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh.

A special dramatic presentation was organized to mark the importance of the ‘National Panchayati Raj Day’ at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh. Students of VII & VIII Std. presented a mock presentation of the Panchayati Raj System & its duties on the stage in a very impressive manner.

The Director of the school Ms. Vinita Sanan gave an inspirational speech to the students and threw light on the importance of Gram Sabha and Panchayat.

Principal Mrs. Gunmeet Kaur appreciated the efforts of the students and shared her knowledge with the students about Panchayati Raj.

 

STUDENTS URGED TO READ AT WORLD BOOK DAY CELEBRATIONS

Students and teachers of Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh. celebrated ‘World Book Day’ with great enthusiasm. The day encouraged children to explore the pleasure of books and reading. “Book Mark Making Competition” was organized for the classes VI to VIII. In primary wing Book Reading Competition was organized in the school library. Students were guided about famous books and their authors like Shakespeare, John Keats, Ruskin Bond etc. Special morning assembly was conducted in the order to tell the importance of reading books. Principal Ms. Gunmeet Kaur encouraged the students for extra reading. Director of the school Ms. Vinita Sanan guided them how to take care of books and share their old books with the poor and the needy. The whole day students were busy in reading and maintaining the books.

Ambedkar Jayanti’ At Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh..

The Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bheem Rao Ambedkar was celebrated at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh. This key figure in framing the constitution was remembered by a competition ‘Slogan Writing’ children made beautiful slogans on Dr. Ambedkar. Certificates were also distributed. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan congratulated everyone and exhorted the students to keep in mind always the ideals of this great man.

 

Baisakhi Celebrations at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh.

Baisakhi, a festival of joy was celebrated at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road. The festival in which farmers are jubilant, marks the time for harvest or rabi crops. The cultural programme on the occasion enthralled everyone. There was a medley performed by students naming ‘Baisakhi Mela’. The choreography ‘Jallianwala Bagh’ filled everyone with patriotism. Group dance ‘Folk’ mesmerized everyone. The star attraction was the solo song by Mehak. The colour of Baisakhi and cries of ‘Jatta Aayi Baisakhi’ reverberated in the skies as gaily dressed boys and girls moved here and there.

Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan congratulated the students on the foundation day of Green Land Convent School. She made the students aware about the importance of Baisakhi. She told that this day marks the foundation of Kahlsa Panth by the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

Zest and Enthusiasm At Green Land Sec 32

New Session was bubbling with Enthusiasm at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road. The session started on 5th April, 2018. It was a day of hustle and bustle. Curious children were humming with activity. Every child was filled with confidence to have new books, bags and uniform.

Welcome cards were distributed in junior classes. In the classes III-V a Paragraph writing Competition was organized. Tiny little angels of PNSY-KG  relished sweets. Badges were awarded to well-dressed and most disciplined students. In the classes I-II a colouring competition was organized.

Principal Ms.Vinita Sanan greeted the children with lots of love and cheers. She welcomed everyone and in her address she stressed upon the value of hard work in the students’ life. All in all, the beginning of the new session was full of cheer and activity.

 

Gurupurab Celebrated At Green Land Convent School, Sec-32

The Birth Anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated with religious fervour at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. The school was decked up to mark the celebrations. To spread the divine ambience, students of the primary, middle and senior sections stressed on the importance of unflinching faith in the Guru through poems and speeches. A beautiful Shabad ‘Har-Har Naam Dhiyavo’ recited by a teacher mesmerized everyone.  The students excelled in the Shabad Gayan. The Shabad ‘Waho-Waho Gobind SIngh Ji’& ‘Deh Shiva Var Mohe Ehe’ filled all with religious faith.

Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan appreciated the students for their dedicated efforts and opined that such celebrations are must for making the students religious minded and thus bringing out a transformation in society.

 

GREEN LAND TAKES ANOTHER LEAP IN CLASS XII RESULT

It was a day of excitement for Green Land Convent School, Sec-32 when the result of XII was declared. Heading towards steps of excellence, Green Land School topped in all streams. The whole atmosphere was drenched in enthusiasm at the fabulous result. In aggregate Palak Goyal of Science stream brought laurels to the school emerging as topper by grabbing 95.6%. In Commerce stream Divya Rudhra scored an aggregate 93.6% and Madhu Luthra scored 92.8%. In Humanity group Prabhjot Kaur scored an aggregate 92% Director Sh. Rajesh Rudhra and Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan congratulated the winners for their commendable victory. Ms. Vinita Sanan stated that hard work never goes unrewarded. It is untiring and relentless efforts of the Green Landers that has won them these coveted positions.

LSSC(CENTRAL) PRINCIPALS’ MEET AT GREENLANDCONVENTSCHOOL, SEC-32, CHD. ROAD, LDH.

A meeting of Principals of Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex(Central) was held at GreenLand Convent School Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana. Wherein 25 Principals from various CBSE schoolswere present. The host Principal who is also the Joint Secretary of LSSC welcomed the Principals and apprised everyone about the agenda of the meeting. The Director of Ludhiana SahodayaSachools Complex (Central) Mrs. NavitaPuri (Principal, KVM School) took charge of discussing the Annual Calendar of Activities of 2017-18. The school Principals unanimously approved the distribution of activities after a detailed discussion.
The house also discussed the latest changes in the examination pattern and curriculum by the CBSE. The Secretary of LSSC Mrs. GurmantKaurGill(Principal Guru Nanak International School)urged all the school Principals to come together on a common platform for providing quality education so that best services may be rendered to the nation. She pressed upon the need of supporting each other for enhancing quality in teaching and learning process. Mrs. BaldeepPandher Principal Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School proposed a vote of thanks. In order to enhance the stage confidence of little kids, an English Declamation Contest was organised at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Chd. Road, Ldh. for the classes IV-V. The topics were interesting like Books-Our Real Friends, TV and Children, Our Environment, Role Model For Children. All the students orated well. But some students spoke so well that everyone was spell bound. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan congratulated the winners with the words that such competitions are a must to remove stage fear from the minds of the students.

Fruit Carnival was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Green Land Convent School, Sector – 32, Chd. Road, Ludhiana. The day was celebrated for the students of class II. The students were told to bring fruits from their homes. They themselves came in the attires of different fruits and were looking chubby as Mangoes, Apples, Bananas and so on. Their teachers were signifying the importance of eating fruit daily. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan in her address advised everyone to know the importance of fruits.

Green Land Sec-32, shines in class X CBSE Result

It was a jubilant moment for Green Land Sec-32, Chd Road when the students of class X produced 100% result in X CBSE. It was a moment of pride not only for the students but also for the teachers, parents, management and Principal as well. Out of 176 students 56students secured perfect 10 CGPA, 11 students got 9.8 CGPA and 30 students grabbed between 9.0& 9.6 CGPA. The toppers were in enthusiastic mood when they came to know about their result.
Chairman Cum Director Sh. Rajesh Rudhra congratulated thestudents for their toil and efforts. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan encouraged the students with the words that milestones can be achieved through hard work and determination.

Basant Panchami celebrated at Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Ldh.

Green Land Convent Sec-32, Chd. Road was bubbling with enthusiasm on Vasant Panchami , a festival marking the start of spring and Holi Seasons. All the teachers were attired in yellow dresses. This day dedicated to goddess Saraswati began with group song Saraswati Vandana & ?Maa Saraswati Shardhe’ a group dance was also performed to pay obeisance to the Goddess. This day is celebrated to mark the importance of ?Rituraj’ Vasant the king of seasons. To add flavor to the event the children brought yellow sweets and other eatables. Different competitions were organized at school. The students of Nursery to II sought blessings from the Goddess of Knowledge. Yellow gaudy costumes and traditional jewellery worn by tiny tots caught the eyes of the beholders. Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan expressed joy and opined that in order to aware the children about our culture such festivals should be celebrated. She further related the story of Brahma who gave every creature of the earth the power to speak on this auspicious day.

Paddlers From Green Land Convent School, Sec-32, Excelled in Table Tennis

The Paddlers from Green Land Convent school, Sec-32 emerged victorious in LSSC Table Tennis Tournament held at Darshan Academy, Bhamian, Ldh. From 23rd to 25th January, 2017. Teams of both boys and girls from major CBSE schools participated in the competition. In under 19 & 17 category (Girls) Green Land, Sec-32 secured First Position. These girls have been winning this competition continuously for the last three years in their respective category. In Under-14 category (Girls) Second Position was bagged by the school. Chairman – Cum – Director Sh. Rajesh Rudhra congratulated the winners and stated that sports are a means to inculcate team spirit and confidence among children.
Principal Ms. Vinita Sanan expressed satisfaction at the performance. She opined that participation in games and sports is mandatory for the overall growth of children.
